Mr. Femi Adesina, a former spokesperson for former President Muhammad Buhari, claimed Wednesday that the media purposefully misquoted him while he was in government.
Adesina participated in a media chat hosted by the Association of Veteran Journalists in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
He continued by saying that some media outlets had purposefully pitted him against the populace just because he worked for the government.
"A part of the media purposely quoted me out of context," he said, "which was my worst difficulty during the eight years that I served with former President Muhammadu Buhari.
"I ultimately got used to the shenanigans and grew out of it. Even though I was having a television interview, it was purposely misrepresented in the newspapers to cast me as the enemy of the people, but I outgrew it and it had no bearing on my duties throughout my time.
