Parents and guardians of prospective Senior High School students have been advised by the Ministry of Education to refrain from making payments while the school placement process gets underway.
The Ministry said in a press release dated January 28 that the hiring procedure is solely based on merit and that no other consideration is given at all.
Prospective Senior High School students, parents/guardians, and the general public are now warned against any type of payment to shady persons, proposing to ensure their desired choice of school during the 2023 Computerized School Placement into Senior High/TVET Schools."
The Ministry promised a fair, transparent, and merit-based hiring procedure to the general public.
This comes following the debut of the "School Placement for Sale" trailer by The Fourth Estate.
The documentary shows parents, guardians, and those in charge of school placement striking arrangements to place children in the schools of their choice.
The documentary is anticipated to premiere on January 30th, a Monday.
